Tlos ( Lycian Tlawa ; Heth . Probably Talawa) is an ancient city in Lycia , in southwestern Turkey in the Xanthos Valley.

The settlement site was already settled in the Bronze Age and is probably identical with the place Tlawa or Dalawa mentioned in Hittite sources. The city was one of the six largest places in the Lycian League . Although the city was the seat of a bishopric in Byzantine times, its importance dwindled. The last inglorious high point was the establishment of a winter residence and barracks as a fortress on the old ruins of the Acropolis by Kanlı Ali Ağa, who was considered a robber in the 19th century .
