history

Talofa Airways was founded in 2016 by Toleafoa Jeffrey Hunter, who previously worked as a pilot for various airlines in the South Pacific and has lived in Samoa since 1996. The official launch of Talofa Airways took place on August 22nd, 2016 at Fagali'i Airport, which serves as the company's operational base. The first flight was carried out on August 29 of the same year. Initially, the company took up scheduled connections to Pago Pago in American Samoa . Since July 1, 2017, the company has also been flying to Fuaʻamotu ( Tonga ) in scheduled services.

On April 25, 2018, Talofa Airways ceased operations because a Rockwell 690B Turbo Commander had failed due to a broken landing gear since January 2018 and the second also had to be repaired due to an overheated brake. A restart of operations is planned with two replacement machines.
