Tamás Kancsal (born November 17, 1951 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian pentathlete .
Career
Kancsal participated in the Olympics in 1976 in Montreal in part. In the individual competition, he finished ninth. In the team competition , he secured the bronze medal together with Tibor Maracskó and Szvetiszláv Sasics .
At world championships he was also successful with the team. In 1974 and 1979 he was runner-up with her, and in 1975 he won the title with her. In 1975 the team consisted of the same athletes who won the Olympic bronze together the following year. In the individual, he was also runner-up behind Pawel Lednjow .
