Tamás Meszerics

Tamás Meszerics (born December 4, 1964 in Győr ) is a Hungarian politician of the Lehet Más a Politika . He has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 .
Tamás Meszerics lived in Budapest from 1973 . He obtained a Masters degree in English and History from Eötvös Loránd University in 1990 , followed by doctorates in contemporary history in 1996 and 2000. He worked as an assistant professor of political science at the Central European University .
From 1989 to 1995 Meszerics was a party member of the League of Free Democrats . He joined the Lehet Más a Politika in 2008, where he soon became party secretary and member of the political committee. Meszerics was elected to the European Parliament in 2014. There he is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and a delegation to the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation between the EU and Russia.
