Tamassint , also Tamasint , ( Central Atlas Tamazight ⵜⴰⵎⴰⵙⵉⵏⵜ ) is a village of the Imazighen on the Mediterranean coast in the province of Al Hoceïma , Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma , in northern Morocco , about 20 km from the next provincial town of Al Hoceïma . The Oued Rhis flows about three kilometers west of Tamasint .
In the 2014 census, Tamasint had 1,831 inhabitants, in the 2004 census it was 1,788.
The city and the surrounding villages were hit by a strong earthquake in 2004. In the following years there were protests against the government.
