Central Atlas Tamazight or simply Tamazight ( Mazirian isch ) describes a specific Berber dialect in central Morocco .
Tamazight as a dialect
Tamazight is the name of the Berber dialect spoken in central Morocco, especially in the Middle Atlas , in contrast to the two other dialects that are widespread in Morocco: Taschelhit (in the entire south of Morocco) and Tarifit (in the north, especially in the Rif Mountains ). The difference to the pocket hit is small, communication is quite possible. The distance to the tariff is somewhat larger, mainly because of the pronunciation; much of the vocabulary is the same. Although there are no official data, it is estimated that 2.5 to 3 million speakers only speak the central Moroccan Tamazight dialect.
