from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tambari is the title of a children's book by Benno Pludra . It was first published in 1969 by Kinderbuchverlag Berlin and was also filmed as Tambari in 1977 .

content

Tambari is the name of a cutter that the circumnavigator Luden bequeathed to the fishermen in his home village on the Bodden . The fishermen do not want the cutter and are giving it to the children. For the boy Jan, Luden's only friend, the boat is a piece of Luden. It holds memories of journeys together and reminds Jan of the distant seas that Luden was traveling on.

The children make the old cutter seaworthy again. The fishermen are demanding it back and a dispute between the children and adults over possession of the boat is in the air. Jan drives out to the lagoon with his friends at night. The children make their dreams come true for a short time on the journey.
