Tamer Hosny Sherif Abbas Farghaly ( Arabic تامر حسني شريف عباس فرغلي, DMG Tāmir Ḥusnī Šarīf ʿAbbās ; * August 16, 1977 in Cairo ), Tamir Husny for short (also Tamir Husney ), is an Egyptian singer, actor and composer.

Life

Tamer Hosny's father is Egyptian, his mother comes from Syria . He has an older brother.

Hosny is under contract with the Egyptian production company Free Music. His single Habibi Wenta B'eed brought him great success in the Arab world.

In autumn 2009 he was confronted with allegations of plagiarism: His song Ha'esh Hayati is said to have copied parts of the song Why not Us by the German band Monrose .

Under the impressions of the revolution in Egypt in 2011 , Hosny went to the center of the demonstrations, Tahrir Square in Cairo , to speak and sing to the people there. However, he got negative reactions from the audience, who booed him. Before that, in the second week of the protest, Hosny had asked the demonstrators via Egyptian state television to leave the square to avoid bloodshed.
