Tampere Hall

The Tampere Hall ( Finnish : Tampere-talo ) is an event and congress hall in the center of the south-west Finnish city of Tampere . It is considered one of the largest in Northern Europe. The two architects Sakari Aartelo and Esa Piironen designed the hall, which was officially opened on September 29, 1990 by the then Finnish President Mauno Koivisto . The architectural structure of the building is made up of simple geometric figures such as rectangles, squares, circles or trapezoids. Building materials are white ceramic slabs, gray granite and glass.

The house has five halls and conference rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 750 people, depending on the seating. In addition, the Tampere Hall has a smaller auditorium for up to 200 people, which is also used for concert events. The two main auditoriums hold 500 and 1,800 people respectively. About two thirds are Finnish events, one third international.
