Tanikawa Tetsuzo

Tanikawa Tetsuzō ( Japanese 谷川 徹 三 ; * May 26, 1895 , † September 27, 1989 ) was a Japanese philosopher.

Tanikawa taught at Hōsei University , of which he was president from 1963 to 1965. He published several philosophical writings, including Kanshō to hasei (“Sentimentality and Reflection”, 1925), Naibu to gaibu (“The Inner and the Outer”, 1933), Seikatsu, tetsugaku, geijutsu (“Life, Philosophy, Art”, 1930 ) and Shisō enkin ("Far and Near Thoughts", 1933). In 1987 he was honored as a person with special cultural merits .
