Tankred (dean)
Tankred (Latin Tancradus , among other things; † after 1122) was the Stiftsdekan in Tournai or Bruges in Flanders .
Life
He was mentioned for the first time in 1101 as the canon of St. Donatus in Bruges and as a subdeacon , then several times as a clericus ( cleric ) and without any other title. Around 1108 the author of an alleged appeal by East German bishops described him as an important philosopher ( insignis philosophus ), probably out of personal respect. In 1122 he was probably the decanus Tancramnus of a collegiate monastery in Tournai, Bruges or their surroundings in a document from Bishop Lambert von Tournai .
