Tanna de-be Elijahu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tanna de-be Elijahu (also: Seder Elijahu ) is an ethical midrash in the Hebrew language that emerged after 500 and before 800 .

He wants to admonish the right way of life ( derekh erets ) and glorifies the study of law.

There are different variants of the text, chapter divisions and origin of the author (the authors?) Are also controversial.

The S. Haida edition, Prague 1677, is not an edition of the actual text, but, as the author himself states, in view of the corrupted text that has been handed down , he asked Elijah to reveal the text to him again after prayer and fasting!
