Tapio Luusua (born August 4, 1981 in Pelkosenniemi ) is a Finnish freestyle skier . He's on the moguls specialized disciplines, contained moguls and dual moguls.

biography

Luusua made his debut on November 27, 1999 in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup and achieved 13th place in Tandådalen . This was his best result in his debut season. The first place on the podium followed on December 14, 2000, when he finished third in the Moguls competition in Tignes . He qualified for the 2002 Winter Olympics , where he finished fifth. He achieved his first World Cup victory on December 19, 2002 in Ruka .

After two moderate seasons Luusua celebrated the second World Cup victory of his career on December 14, 2005 in Tignes, but he missed the 2006 Winter Olympics due to injury. In the seasons 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09 a second place was his best Result. At the 2009 World Cup in Inawashiro , he won the silver medal in the Moguls competition and the bronze medal in the Dual Moguls competition. In the winter of 2009/10 he did not get more than a tenth place in the World Cup.
