Tarald Lundevall

Trond Tarald Lundevall (born March 10, 1948 ) is a Norwegian architect and architecture professor at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design .

Life

Lundevall studied at the Oslo School of Architecture (AHO), among others with Sverre Fehn  and  Christian Norberg-Schulz . He finished his studies in 1973 with a diploma .

In the 1980s he was a partner in Knutsen og Lundevall, which he co-founded . In the 1990s he was a consultant for the then Minister of Culture Åse Kleveland ( Ap ) on architectural issues . Lundevall has been a partner and senior architect at the US-Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta since 1996 . Since 2010 Lundevall has also been Professor II (20% of a full-time position) at his alma mater with special responsibility for professional knowledge for architects. In the context of this he publishes u. A. Textbooks for budding architects.

The Petter Dass Museum (2007)

Lundevall was involved in the renovation of the Folkets Hus i Oslo headquarters , which is home to the largest trade union umbrella organization in Norway ( LO ). Lundevall was also involved in the design of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (opening 2002) and the Petter Dass Museum (opening 2007).

The Oslo Opera House (2008)

Lundevall's best-known design is the Oslo Opera House , which opened in April 2008 and for which he took over the project management on behalf of Snøhetta (the design was submitted in 2000). In 2009 he was awarded the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture (formerly: Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture).
