Tarefa

Tarefa , also square tarefa , was a measure of area in Brazil that differed considerably from region to region and could be between 30 and more than 40 ares . The measure still applied according to the legally introduced metric system of measurement. The new dimensions were decided on June 26, 1862 and put into effect on January 1, 1874.
