The fans of the Scottish national football team are known as the Tartan Army . The name refers to the costs borne by many followers kilts with tartan pattern .

The Tartan Army was awarded the Fair Play prize by the Belgian Olympic Committee in 2002 after the World Cup qualifier in Brussels .

In 1997, before the 1998 FIFA World Cup , two Glasgow businessmen registered the brand name "Tartan Army" in the commercial register. They asked the Scottish Tartans Authority to help create a tartan that was entered on March 1, 1997 under number 2389 in the Scottish Tartans Authority (STA) and the Scottish Tartans World Register (STWR ), the basic color is blue, plus the colors red, navy blue, white, golden yellow.
