Taskbar
A section of the desktop of graphical interfaces is referred to as the taskbar , start bar , taskbar or screenbar . Their main task is to programs to start and between open and minimized windows to change.

A taskbar can take on various functions.

- Display of currently open windows (running programs and displayed folders )

Supported Operating Systems
The following operating systems, for example, provide a taskbar:
- Windows (from Windows 95 ): The Windows taskbar has a partially configurable start menu , a quick start bar , a notification field and can be positioned anywhere on the screen.
- Under Linux etc. a. the desktop environments Gnome and KDE , similar to the Windows taskbar.
- macOS uses a dock for taskbar tasks .
- From version 2 MorphOS offers an interface to the screen bar.
