Deeds

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Deeds denotes four different peoples and stands for

  • Iranian-speaking residents of Azerbaijan and Dagestan, see Tat (people)
  • an alternative self-designation of the mountain Jews who, as neighbors of the deeds, adopted their language, see mountain Jews
  • a small group also Tat speaking Gregorian Armenians, see Armenians
  • a group of Persians living in central, north, and northeastern Iran, misleadingly referred to as Tajiks. The Turkic-speaking root Tat can also be found in the word Tajik, which has the same position as the Tat in the far east of former Persia and is generally considered to be the Persians of Central Asia, see Tajiks .
