Tatsuto Mochida

Tatsuto Mochida ( Japanese 持 田 達 人 Mochida Tatsuto ; born April 3, 1965 ) is a former Japanese judoka . In 1989 he was second in the world championship in the weight class up to 78 kilograms.

Athletic career

Tatsuto Mochida lost to the German Andreas Reeh in the final of the Tournoi de Paris in 1987 . At the 1989 World Championships in Belgrade , he defeated Poland's Waldemar Legień in the quarter-finals and Bashir Varajew from the Soviet Union in the semi-finals . In the final he was defeated by the South Korean Kim Byung-joo .

In 1990 Mochida won the Tournoi de Paris, in 1992 he won the Jigoro Kano Cup and in 1994 the international tournament in Moscow. In 1989 and 1994 he won the Japanese championships.
