Pigeon House (Knowesouth)

The Knowesouth Pigeon House is a pigeon house near the Scottish village of Lanton in the Council Area Scottish Borders . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

The pigeon house was built in the late 18th century. It is on the A698 ( Berwick-upon-Tweed - Hawick ) about one kilometer west of the hamlet of Lanton. It is an elongated building with a slate pent roof , in which two skylights are let. The gables are made as a stepped gable . Its interior is divided into two rooms. The masonry is around 90 cm thick. In 1992 the building was inscribed on the Scotland List of Listed Buildings at Risk. In 2012, his condition was classified as very bad and at the same time high risk.
