Diving (procedure)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Diving refers to a process for processing objects.

By immersing in a liquid substance, surfaces can be sealed, refined or otherwise changed, or the temperature has an effect on the material ( quenching , hardening ).

Dipping is mainly used to apply primers to metal and wood .

Typical immersion baths are water, dye, acid or oil baths. Metal objects can also be dipped in PVC paste (PVC powder with a lot of plasticizer). Subsequent drying provides metal objects that are permanently protected from corrosion.
