The baptismal font , also baptismal font, baptismal table or baptismal font is a common figure in heraldry and not often in the coat of arms .

A massive basin made of metal, wood or stone in the heraldically possible tinctures is shown predominantly on a narrow foot .

The baptismal font can be in a coat of arms or field with other heraldic figures . Special shapes and decorations are to be mentioned in the description of the coat of arms .

The coat of arms figure is also suitable for a talking coat of arms . One example is the Austrian municipality of Taufkirchen an der Pram .
