Thousand red roses is the debut album of the German pop singer Olaf Malolepski , who became known through Die Flippers . The album was released on October 14, 2011 in Germany , Austria and Switzerland by Ariola ( Sony Music ).

Emergence

Half a year after the official dissolution of the Schlager group Flippers, Olaf Maloloepski started a career as a soloist. According to his own statements, he “couldn't sit still” and was “still full of energy”. As a stage name he chose his first name Olaf, d. H. his last name is not mentioned on the cover. Malolepski is under contract with Ariola (Sony Music). The album was recorded in the “seven-arts studios” in Mannheim .

The 14 tracks were composed by Joschi Dinier, Oliver Corvino, Armin Kandel, Frank Becker, Marcel Brell, Reiner Burmann, Andreas Bärtels, Werner Stephan and Anke Thomas. The texts come from, among others, Joschi Dinier, Tommy de Winter, Helmut Theil, Marita Theil, Tobias Reitz , Edith Jeske , Frank Becker, Thomas Köhn and Bernd Augener . The arrangers were Joschi Dinier and Reiner Burmann. The album was produced by Joschi Dinier. The Karen Martin Singers contributed to the title “Deeper than the Ocean”.

Cover design

The cover shows a photo of Malolepski with a bouquet of red roses . The background is red, the lettering is written in red and has a white background. The photo was taken by the photographer Manfred Esser.

Music genre

Musically and lyrically there are little differences to the pinball machines. It is primarily about simple hit melodies and soulful texts that serve common hit standards. Love and longing for travel are themes of the album. Occasionally, more pensive tones are also struck.

In March 2012, a premium edition of the album was released. It includes a DVD with a 45-minute TV special and three new recordings of old Flippers songs as well as a medley .

In September 2011, the title song was also released as a single. The music video was also shot in September 2011. Smaller excerpts could already be seen in September 2011 on amazon.com . The premiere of the single took place at Florian Silbereisen's autumn festival on October 15, 2011. Although the single did not reach a chart position through sales, it landed at number 2 on the airplay charts.
