Tawiskaron

Tawiskaron (in German "Feuerstein") or Sawiskera is an evil spirit in the myths of the North American Iroquois and Wyandot . He is the brother and antagonist of the Teharonhiawagon , who was known as a good God.

Tawiskaron primarily destroyed the creations of his twin brother Teharonhiawagon . He created monsters in human form, robbed the sun and made a toad drink and spoil the water that is essential for human life.

In some rites , Tawiskaron appears as a great magician who has been trusted to cure various diseases. The evening and the night were assigned to him and the night ceremonies were dedicated to him. In the mythology of the Seneca , who also belong to the Iroquois, he rules the east.

Teharonhiawagon

Teharonhiawagon, on the other hand, is the good God, his name translated means "who holds heaven with two hands". His middle name, Oterongtongnia , means "little tree". Among the Seneca, the good god is Djuskaha , which means something like "little scion". With you he rules the east of the earth.

All good things were created by him, he is the giver of health and prosperity, accordingly morning and day were assigned to him.
