Tawny Gap (English for reddish-yellow-brown gap ) is a low mountain pass on South Georgia . It leads from a small bay just south of Wales Head to the head of the Icefjord .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it during its 1951-1957 survey campaign. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee gave it its descriptive name in 1958 based on the coloring of the vegetation to be found here .
