The Wales Head is a towering headland on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located 3.5 km east of Craigie Point .
Scientists from the South Georgia Survey mapped them as part of the survey campaign conducted from 1951 to 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after the British astronomer William Wales (1734-1798), of the commissioned Board of Longitude the English navigator and explorer James Cook on his second voyage (1772-1775) on the ship Resolution accompanied would have.
