Teach-in

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A teach-in is a protest in the form of a teaching, discussion and information event organized by activists on a political, social or otherwise polarizing topic. Especially in the course of the 1968 movement , teach-ins were typically held on a university campus , often as a continuation of a sit-in or a go-in . It is a non-violent action . The audience should be informed about grievances and their classification in a larger context (for example structural violence ) and encouraged to do something about it.

If demonstrations have already taken place, the teach-in is primarily used to discuss how to proceed.
