TearFund Switzerland

TearFund Switzerland is an evangelical development and emergency aid organization. The organization was founded in 1984 under the name "Allianzhilfe Schweiz" and was renamed "TearFund Schweiz" (The Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund) in 1996. The name was taken over by tearfund Great Britain, this organization had existed since 1968. The headquarters are in Zurich .

activities

Together with partner organizations in southern countries, TearFund supports and strengthens disadvantaged people through education, basic health and income generation. In Switzerland, TearFund mobilizes Christians to work for disadvantaged people. TearFund's partner organizations are committed to helping disadvantaged people - regardless of their ethnicity or religion.

Emergency aid: In the event of acute or slowly emerging natural disasters or in the event of social and political conflicts, TearFund Switzerland provides assistance to rebuild livelihoods and to mitigate the effects of future disasters.

Development cooperation

TearFund projects have a participatory approach and are locally rooted. The principle of helping people to help themselves is central. The project work focuses on the areas of education, basic health and income generation. No projects of our own are planned, but rather we work with Christian partner organizations from countries in the south.

In development cooperation, TearFund v. a. active in the following countries: Bangladesh , Malawi , Zambia , South Sudan , Uganda and Peru .

Networks

TearFund is a member of the international networks Integral Alliance and Micah Network, the SEA working group StopArmut (co- sponsored by the InterAction association) and the AEM Working Group of Evangelical Missions , the Hope Network for Emergency Aid and Bread for All .

Certificates

The SEA code of honor and the ZEWO quality mark oblige TearFund to act responsibly. The ISO-9001 label attests to a professional and efficient corporate structure.
