Teatr Wojska Polskiego
The Teatr Wojska Polskiego ( German Theater of the Polish Army ) was a Polish theater that operated from 1943 to 1949.
history
The theater was formed in November 1943 in Selzy an der Oka under the name Teatr Żołnierza I Korpusu Polskich Sił Zbrojnych w ZSRR ( German Soldier Theater of the 1st Corps of the Polish Armed Forces in the USSR ) under the direction of Władysław Krasnowiecki from the one founded in June 1943 Soldier Theater of 1 Warszawska Dywizja Piechoty . Since March 1944 it was named Teatr 1st Armii Polskiej ( German Theater of the 1st Polish Army ) and came to Lublin in August 1944 . There it was renamed Teatr Wojska Polskiego in October 1944 and performed his first play Wesele by Stanisław Wyspiański .
The theater in Łódź had been active since January 1945 and was able to celebrate successes with productions by Leon Schiller , who took over the management of the theater from 1946 to 1949.
The Teatr Wojska Polskiego was renamed in 1949 into the Stefan Jaracz Theater , which still exists today .
