TecTile tags are NFC chips that have been developed by Samsung for various purposes.

features

Tectiles are self-adhesive stickers with a built-in chip. They are programmed and described by the user using the app before use . Various commands are stored in the tags and forwarded to the smartphone as soon as you hold it to the sticker. The TecTiles can be rewritten again and again and their content can be deleted, which makes it possible to use the tags again and again and thus significantly extends the service life. The "Samsung TecTiles" app, which can be downloaded directly from the Android Playstore , is used to describe the NFC tags . An NFC-capable device is required for functionality. Samsung sells the original TecTiles in packs of five. The NFC tags are clients or triggers for various functions in the smartphone, which are automatically activated or executed as soon as the described NFC chip is connected to the NFC interface of the smartphone.

application

If you want to have the smartphone automatically paired with the Bluetooth radio in the car, you can now program this using the app. When you get into the car, you have to hold your smartphone to the NFC chip in the car and the command will be carried out; the smartphone switches on the bluetooth and couples with the bluetooth radio of the car. You can do it the same way for smartphone navigation. You hold the smartphone to the preprogrammed chip, the GPS is activated and the navigation app is opened.

Other possible uses

  • The alarm clock goes on automatically every morning at the predefined time.
  • Switch to silent mode at work.
  • A club operator sticks the sticker to any surface at the entrance. Visitors with NFC-enabled devices can now be forwarded to the organizer's website using an NFC smartphone (as with QR codes ).
  • Synchronization of the various accounts such as Twitter and Facebook.
