Teclu burner

The Teclubrenner (named after its inventor Nicolae Teclu ) is a small gas burner which is used for heating in the chemical laboratory . Like the related Bunsen burner, it sucks in the combustion air according to the principle of the jet pump , but differs in the type of air supply and the shape of the burner tube (chimney): With the Teclu burner, the air is introduced into the chimney from below. The tube is downwardly conically widened and has a larger diameter. In this way, more intensive mixing of the gases and thus a higher flame temperature is achieved. The gap for the air supply can be enlarged or reduced by a horizontal rotary knob under the conical extension of the chimney (up to total closure when the rotary knob completely closes the cone).

The Teclub burner can reach a temperature of up to 1500 ° C in the inner flame.
