Teja Aicher

Teja Aicher (* 1909 ; † 1979 ) was an Austrian painter, copywriter and illustrator.

Aicher graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . From 1948 to 1976 he worked for the sometimes very popular Austrian children's magazine Wunderwelt . Among Aicher's picture stories, the one about dwarf Bumsti and his partner, the mouse wearing an apron, was best known. They also appeared on television: from 1973–74, the ORF produced “Wichtelgeschichten” with the Arlequin puppet theater by Arminio Rothstein , in which Aicher's characters appeared. Other of his early comics , which were often accompanied by a text in verse, were among others: "Piff and Paff", "Benjamin and Kasimir", "Stubs and Staberl" and "Perry and Sila". A collection of dwarf Bumsti stories appeared as a reprint in the book "The colorful book of 1000 jokes" (2001, ISBN 3-7074-0121-9 ), together with that of Peter Paul Prince also for the wonderful world created comic strips for "Willibald the sorcerer's apprentice ”and his“ Master Hocus ”.
