Televerket was the name of the Swedish national telephone company between 1953 and 1993 that operated the Swedish telephone network , television network and mobile telephone network .

The Swedish Kongl. Elecktriska Telegraf-Werket was founded after a government decision in February 1853 and in November of the same year the first telegraph line between Stockholm and Uppsala was put into operation. The name was changed to Kongl. Telegrafverket in 1871 and to Kungl in 1903 . Telegrafverket . For the centenary in 1953, the name was finally shortened to Televerket .

In 1992 the Televerket was split up. The operation of the country-wide radio and television stations was taken over by the public limited company Teracom , the mobile telephony and the data network were transferred to a state-owned joint stock company called Telia on July 1, 1993 , and the operation of the telephone directory came to Eniro in 2000 . 33 percent of the Telia shares were introduced on July 13, 2000 at the OMX .
