The telomerization or telomerization is a chemical reaction that a special form of polymerization represents.

A molecule A – B reacts with n molecules of the monomer M to form telomeres according to the following equation:

Fluorotelomerization

In the manufacturing process of perfluorinated surfactants such as fluorotelomer alcohols , fluorotelomerization, one process step consists of telomerization. In addition to electrochemical fluorination , it represents the second process for the production of perfluorinated surfactants. Here, n molecules of tetrafluoroethylene are reacted with pentafluoroethyl iodide :
