Temple Mill Island

Temple Mill Island is an island in the Thames upstream from Marlow and downstream from Temple Lock . The island is on the south bank of the river at Hurley .

The island is named after three water mills that stood on the island and were used to strike copper and bronze . Today there are modern houses on the island and a bridge connects it to the mainland.

Daniel Defoe mentions the island in A tour thro 'the whole island of Great Britain (1724-1727).
