history
The company was founded as a wood processing company in Minneapolis by George H. Tennant in 1870. In 1907 it was incorporated as a company. In 1910, Tennant began manufacturing motorized floor cleaning equipment.
In 2013, the German company Kärcher won against Tennant in a lawsuit over misleading advertising.
Tennants B5 Battery Powered Burnisher won the Bronze IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) in 2014. Tennant was on the 2014 Forbes list of the "100 Most Trustworthy Companies in America".
