Polßen is a district of the municipality of Gramzow in the Uckermark district in the north-east of Brandenburg .
History
Polßen was alternately owned by the Greiffenberg, von Buch and von Alvensleben families . In 1831 it came from the bankrupt estate of the heirs of the merchant and baron Francois Matthieu von Vernezobre de Laurieux to the von Wedel-Parlow family , who owned the Polßen estate until 1945.
Geography and transport links
Polßen is located southwest of the core town of Gramzow on the B 198, which runs in a north-south direction .
Nature reserves
- West of the town which is 2,830.66 ha large nature reserve Melzow forest . The A 11 (= E 28) leads through the area, which has been under nature protection since October 1st, 1990 .
- To the south-east lies the 13.63-hectare peat quarry near Polßen , which has also been under nature protection since October 1, 1990.
