Karlshof , also spelled Carlshof in the 19th century , is a residential area in the municipality of Gramzow in the Uckermark district (Brandenburg). It was laid out in 1818 by the district councilor August Karbe on land that belonged to the Gramzower Schulzengut. In the 19th century, the estate was still part of the Blankenburg district, as the Schulzenhof belonged to the Blankenburg school authority . The municipality of Gramzow is the seat and member of the administrative community Amt Gramzow .

location

The (original) Vorwerk Karlshof was around 500 meters from the center of Granzow, and only a few tens of meters from the north bank of the Großer Kuhsee . Thanks to further, loosened development, the residential area now extends over a stretch of almost one kilometer along the Karlshof street, which branches off the B 198 to the west northwest of the center of Gramzow . The Vorwerk Karlshof is about 62  m above sea level. NHN .

history

The Vorwerk Karlshof was laid out in 1818 by District Councilor August Karbe on land that belonged to the Schulzengut in Gramzow. The Schulzengut with three hooves belonged to the Blankenburg school authority at the time , which was leased to the local councilor Karbe. It is marked on the original Potzlow table sheet from 1827, but without a name.

According to the description from 1854, there was a house at Karlshof that had 10 residents. In 1858 two houses with 16 inhabitants are even given, as well as six farm buildings. Around / before 1867 the farm came into the possession of a C. Zander.

With the dissolution of the school office, or more exactly the transfer of the prerogatives (police force) to the circle which came Ackergut Karlshof 1874 together with Blankenburg to District 1 Seehausen in circle Angermuende. School leaseholder Steinicke in Seehausen was appointed head of office, and the landowner Wölle auf Warnitz was his deputy.

In 1879 the Vorwerk had a total size of 139.46 ha, of which 112.58 ha were arable, 26.46 ha were meadows and 0.42 ha were water. The property tax net income is estimated at 3975 marks.

In 1885 the Carlshof belonged to Paul Karbe, Hauptmann a. D. The estate now had a size of 155 hectares, of which 141 hectares were arable, 13 hectares were meadows and 1 hectare was water. The property tax entry was set at 4157 marks. The breeding of Dutch cattle and a dairy are noted among the special features .

For 1896 the total size of the estate is given as 158.26 hectares, of which 142.26 hectares are arable and 16 hectares are meadows. The net income from property tax was set at 4032 marks. A C. Mulatt is given as the owner.

From 1903 Fritz Wölle was the owner of Karlshof. In 1921 the total size is given as 162 hectares, of which 141 hectares were arable, 17 hectares meadow, 1 hectare Hutung and 3 hectares were uncultivated . 18 horses were kept on the farm, including two broodmares, 48 head of cattle, including 15 dairy cows and three sires and 18 pigs.

Niekammer's Agricultural Goods Directory for the Province of Brandenburg again mentions Fritz Wölle as the owner for 1923. The total size is now estimated at 158 ha, of which 142 ha are arable and 16 ha are meadows. The livestock consisted of 17 horses, 70 cattle, of which 32 were dairy cows and 60 pigs. The property tax entry amounted to 4303 marks.

Niekammer's agricultural goods address book for the province of Brandenburg from 1929 (the last in this series) now gives a total size of 175 hectares, of which 150 hectares are arable, 20 hectares are meadows and 5 hectares are pastures. The net income from property tax had risen to 4,785 marks. There were 20 horses and 60 cattle on the farm, of which 32 were dairy cows. The owner had changed; the farm now belonged to a Dr. Doll from Berlin.,

In the land reform of 1946, a total of 239 hectares were expropriated and divided, including the original Vorwerk Karlshof. In 1953 a type I LPG was established with eight members, which cultivated 25 hectares of usable area. This LPG was dissolved again in 1953. Soon afterwards, however, a new LPG Type I must have been founded, which in 1960 had 15 members; they managed 117 hectares of agricultural land. In 1970 this LPG was connected to the LPG Type III in Gramzow.

Communal affiliation

Karlshof belonged to the municipality of Blankenburg at least until 1874. The historical local dictionary also writes: around 1860 still to the municipality of Blankenburg. It is unclear when Karlshof came to the Gramzow district. In 1897 Karlshof was definitely part of the Gramzow community. In 1931 and 1957 Karlshof was a residential area of Gramzow, in 1977 Karlshof was named as a district of Gramzow. With the municipality of Granzow, the district came to the Gramzow office in 1992. Since then it has had the status of a place to live again.

At the time the Vorwerk was built, Gramzow and Karlshof were in the Angermünde district of the Brandenburg province. In the district reform of 1952 in the former GDR, Gramzow came to the Prenzlau district and the Neubrandenburg district . With the district reform of 1993, the Prenzlau district was combined with the Angermünde and Templin districts to form the Uckermark district.
