The Baojun RS-5 is a sport utility vehicle offered since 2019 by the Baojun brand belonging to the Chinese automobile manufacturer SAIC GM Wuling .
history
The vehicle was presented in November 2018 at the Guangzhou Auto Show . It went on sale in China in February 2019. The five-seater is positioned above the Baojun 530 and is the brand's first model with an alphanumeric designation. Technically, the RS-5 is based on a new platform ( R platform ). It's also the brand's first vehicle to feature a new logo. This is reserved for the higher positioned models of the brand.
The MG HS and the Wey VV6 are among the competitors of the SUV .
Technical specifications
The Baojun RS-5 is powered by a supercharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of 111 kW (151 PS). The vehicle has a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, an 8- speed automatic transmission is available at an additional cost . All-wheel drive is not available for the Sport Utility Vehicle, it can only be purchased with front-wheel drive. With the changeover of the drive to the China VI emissions standard, the engine has only developed 108 kW (147 hp) since July 2019. In June 2020, a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of 130 kW (177 hp) added to the model range.
