Teodoro Gutiérrez Calderón

Teodoro Gutiérrez Calderón (* 1890 in San Antonio del Táchira , † October 15, 1958 in Bogotá ) was a Colombian poet and writer.

Gutiérrez obtained a bachelor's degree from the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Bogotá, headed by Rafael María Carrasquilla , after attending school in San Cayetano del Norte and Pamplona . He then studied law at the Universidad Nacional without obtaining a degree.

Gutiérrez became known as a satirist and a poet. Among other things, he wrote the Himno del Norte , the hymn of Norte de Santander , which was set to music by José Rozo Contreras .
