The Departamento de Norte de Santander is a department in northeast Colombia , the capital of which is Cúcuta . It borders Venezuela to the north and east , the Departamento de Boyacá to the south, and the Departamento de Santander and the Departamento del Cesar to the west .
Livestock and agriculture are the main economic drivers of the province. There are coffee , tobacco , yucca , bananas and cocoa grown. The province has extensive oil and coal deposits. She continues to live from the border traffic with Venezuela.
The Tamá National Park and the Los Estoraques area are of great tourist importance.
