Ternøya is an island in the Kvitsøyfjord in the municipality of Kvitsøy in the Norwegian province of Rogaland .
The rocky island extends from north to south for about 500 meters with a width of up to 400 meters and reaches heights of up to 17 meters. The coastline of the island is characterized by several bays. In the north there are the bays Nordra Ternøyabukta and Austra Ternøyabukta , in the south Sørvestra Ternøyabukta and Søraustra Ternøyabukta .
To the north of the island is the island of Eime and to the southwest is Sandøya . There are also various smaller archipelago islands in the vicinity of Ternøya . In the north Ternøykeipen , Ternøyskjeret , in the south Nordra Grasskjer and Grasskjer and in the west, separated by the Skorpesundet , the island of Skorpe .
The island is part of the Heglane og Eime nature reserve .
