Eime is an island in the Kvitsøyfjord in the municipality of Kvitsøy in the Norwegian province of Rogaland .
The rocky island extends from southwest to northeast over about 700 meters with a width of up to 470 meters with a total area of 0.17 km². Eimebukta Bay is on the east side of the island , and Keila Bay is in the south . The island reaches a height of up to 28,365 meters in its center. This is also the highest point in Kvitsøy municipality. In the north lies the height of Skarvaberget , in the southeast Gulenakken .
There are various small archipelago islands in the immediate vicinity . In the north Kobbsloen , east Nodel , Stora Kjeringa and Litla Kjeringa and in the west Keipflua and separated by the Skotasundet , Eimeskota . A little further north is Sveina , south of Eimesundet to the south Ternøya followed.
It is believed that a Saint Clement Chapel mentioned in 1146 stood on Eime. At least in 1620, however, it no longer existed.
Eime has been designated as a nature reserve Eime naturreservat since May 7, 1982 . The purpose of the protection is to protect the seabirds and their breeding grounds and, in general, the plants and animals native to the island. At the same time, a protection ordinance that had existed for the area since May 13, 1938, expired. Entry is prohibited from April 15 to August 1 of each year. In addition, the area around the island is part of the Heglane og Eime nature reserve .
