Tero Tiitu (born April 23, 1982 ) is a Finnish floorball player. He currently plays in the Finnish first division ( Salibandyliiga ) for the club Erä Viikingit, which was founded in 2016.

Career

Tiitu played for Josba for the first time in 1999 in the Salibandyliiga. Until 2002 he stayed with Josba , the club from Joensuu , with which he could at least become Finnish runner-up. 2002/03 he played as runner-up for the Espoon Oilers, with whom he was able to win the championship. But then he returned to Josba.

There he played a season before he was to play again for Espoo until 2007. During this period he was able to win bronze at the World Championships in 2004 and his second silver medal in 2006. In 2006 he was also elected to the World Cup All Stars team. In 2005/06 he set a record in the Salibandyliiga in which he scored 63 goals in one season. For the 2007/08 season he moved to SSV Helsinki. In 2008 he became world champion with the Finnish team in Prague. In the final, Tiitu scored the decisive goal in overtime against Sweden. He also won the Euro Floorball Cup with SSV in 2008. He was voted the world's second best player of the year 2008 by the Swedish trade magazine Innebandymagazinet , behind the Swede Magnus Svensson . He had previously been voted Player of the Season of the Salibandyliiga after the 2007/08 season. From 2012 to 2016 Tiitu played in the Svenska Superligan and won the Champions Cup and the Swedish championship with IBF Falun in the 2014/2015 season . Since 2016 the Finn has been under contract with Erä Vikingiit again in the domestic Salibandyliiga.
