The 7th men's floorball world championship was held from December 6th to 14th, 2008 in the Czech Republic . The group games were played in the ČEZ Aréna in Ostrava and the finals in the O₂ Arena in Prague , with the exception of the game for 9th place, which took place in Prague's Sparta Arena .

The title was won for the first time by Finland , which defeated Sweden after overtime in the final and broke their series of six world championships. It was the first game that Sweden lost in a World Cup.
