1997 World Floorball Championship for women

The 1st Women's Floorball World Championship was held in Finland in May 1997 . The venues were Godby and Mariehamn in the Finnish region of Åland .

Sweden defeated Finland 4-2 in the final and became the first world champion. Bronze went to Norway .
