2015 World Floorball Championship for women

The 9th Women's Floorball World Championship was held from December 4th to 12th, 2015 in Tampere , Finland . Sweden became world champion with a 5: 4 in the final over Finland in the penalty shootout.

qualification

With the exception of the host Finland, all teams had to compete to qualify for the 2015 World Cup. The qualification tournaments were held in three groups in Europe and one group each in America and Asia-Oceania. In Europe, the three best group and the two best group fourth were able to qualify, Asia-Oceania had three starting places and a team from America was able to compete in the world championship.

mode

The sixteen qualified teams were divided into four pots according to their world ranking position after the 2013 World Cup. The best eight teams were assigned to groups A and B, the remaining eight to groups C and D.

After the group stage, the two best-placed teams in Groups A and B qualify directly for the quarter-finals, while the third and fourth-placed teams in the group have to play a playoff match against the first and second-placed teams in Groups C and D. The third and fourth placed groups C and D play the final placement in the world championship among themselves in placement games.
