Monika Schmid (born February 16, 1990 ) is a Swiss floorball player . She is under contract with the National League A representative UHC Dietlikon .

Career

society

Schmid began her career at THS Adliswil. She later moved to the youth department of UHC Dietlikon before she was integrated into the UHCD squad for the 2011/12 season. During this time she was able to celebrate three cup wins with Dietlikon . In the 2011/12 Cup, she had to admit defeat four times in the first Cup final. Schmid lost the cup with Dietlikon 4: 3 against the Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur . In the following years she was always able to win the Cup with Dietlikon. In 2017 she had no goals conceded and Dietlikon was able to celebrate the third cup win in a row. She is only the third goalkeeper who did not concede a goal in the cup final.

Two days after the 2017 Cup final, the club announced that the offensive player's contract had been extended for another year until the end of the 2017/18 season. On March 2, 2018, the UHC Dietlikon announced that Schmid will continue to be in goal in 2018/19.

National team

On October 29, 2010 Schmid made her debut for the Swiss national team . She had her first international assignment at the 2011 home world championships in St. Gallen . Since then she has taken part in two other world championships. She failed with the Swiss national team in the small final against the Czech Republic . Two years later she was able to win the bronze medal with Switzerland. In 2015, Switzerland took third place again in Tampere . She shared the goal with Helen Bircher .
