Terrast ceiling

A Terrast ceiling is a load-bearing ceiling that was previously mainly used in residential buildings. A double wire mesh mat with a cardboard filling was placed on the ceiling beams and covered with screed on the top . The bottom under the joists have been, for example with wooden slats blinded to a plaster could be applied. It was named after the manufacturer Terrast-Baugesellschaft mbH from Berlin, whose founder was Gustav Lilienthal .
