Eva Therese Margaretha Merkel (born April 18, 1970 in Nyköping ) is a Swedish singer and a member of the band Alcazar until 2018 .

Merkel began her career as an actress in musicals. She also sang as a choir member at Melodifestivalen, Melodifestivalen 1993 for Lena Pålsson , Melodifestivalen 1997 for Andreas Lundstedt and Melodifestivalen 2000 for the band Avengers. As a member of Alcazar, she took part in a total of five Melodifestivalen , the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , in 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2014 . She also took part in the 2006 European Poker Tour in Barcelona. In the same year Merkel was also the presenter of the final of the MGP Nordic 2006, a Scandinavian music competition for children.
